Test of smtp setup?

Asked by Marc Domachowski

Servus!

How can I test the smtp setup? I configured a threshold alarm for increases of "compressor_dhw" to be alarmed every time the heat pump is activated to heat the water, but did not receive an email yet.

There's no corresponding entry in the log file so far.

Thanks,
Marc

OK, problem ist partly solved. I received my first e-Mail at 22:07 CEST. I am just wondering because the reading of this graph suggests that the compressor had been activated three times before?!?

What do you think?

Thanks!

As far as I know the hours are only increased if a full hour went by, in German it is called "Betriebsstundenzähler" and as it is only a integer value and not a float one, it can only increased if an other hour is full.

I use it only to monitor the booster (= Nachheizregister) as if it starts to runs it must be really cold or if there a problem like the filters are full and need to be replaced. The problem as programmer but good as the heat pump owner is that I never hat the booster activated since my software is running. So feedback if it really works would be great. ;-)

If you want to get the activation of the compressor logged/mailed, new functionality should be added to be able to define threshold on the values which are displayed in the graphs. What is the reason for this, the compressor runs every 1-2 hours at least once.

Hi Robert!

Thank you for your hint. Now it makes sense... ;)

It would be very interesting for me to monitor various "digital" states of the LWZ in correlation to the graphs - i.e. the activity of the pumps, compressor, booster, heat pipe, defrost function etc.

The problem with my LWZ is that from time to time the DHW temperature drops suddenly below threshold without any usage of warm water, resulting of an unnecessary activation of the heatpump. In order to investigate and track down the problem, I came across your homepage and the heatpump monitor. Now I think a better understanding of the various states of the LWZ might help me to understand what is going on.

One thing I learned from Stiebel Eltron customer service is that the LWZ uses some 30l of DHW to defrost from time to time. But when is this happening?

Thanks,
Marc
