postpone action to nearest bar end

Asked by Nareto

Is it possible map a certian event to trigger an action not immediately, but on the next bar end? Now I understand there might not be a "bar" concept in harmonyseq... But for example it would be nice to be able to change patterns in a sequencer not immediately, but only when the current pattern has finished playing

Nareto,
As far as I know all actions are scheduled till next bar end. Pattern changes also never happen immediately, they take place when next bar is starting, so it should work just the way you want it. Note however, that if you have a pattern of length equal to, for example, 2.0, then it means that it lasts two bars, so the pattern may be changed either at this pattern's end, or right in the middle of that pattern. In case you want it not to change in the middle, double the tempo, and set pattern's length to 1 - now it will last exactly one bar.
I hope this will make things clearer! ;-)
