Hardy Backports

gnucash version on 8.04

I had seen a backport request for gnucash 2.6.2 (bug #243436) to 8.04.

I had one question about this...
Is gnucash 2.6.2 a part of updates on the stable version or is it going to be a part of backports archive?

I'm very new to getting packages from PPAs.
Can someone give me a link to some document which shows how to install a software from a PPA?

About the first question (i.e. gnucash backport of 2.6.2) I do not have any updates.
