Nothing happens when clicking configure on 'Hamachi is not configured'

Asked by Gabe

I've two machines running 13.04 ubuntu.

On the first, I installed hamachi, then haguichi, pressed CONFIGURE button when it says 'Hamachi is not configured' and all works.

Second machine, pressing configure button never gives me any popup (for my password) and nothing happens.

Any ideas what I should double check? Funny thing is, the machine it doesn't work on is the one I just clean installed before trying hamachi.

Most importantly, you need to be administrator (super user) to configure and start Hamachi.

If you are, but configuring still doesn't work, you can start Haguichi in debug mode (enter "haguichi --debug" in terminal) to watch for possible clues.

What Haguichi will attempt is adding an Ipc.User entry with your username to /var/lib/logmein-hamachi/h2-engine-override.cfg and then restart Hamachi ("/etc/init.d/logmein-hamachi restart"). Both actions require super user privileges, hence the password dialog (gksudo) that indeed should appear.
