Are we going to translate?

Asked by Samuel Tarling

I would like to know if we are going to bother to translate from English (GB) to anything else. I also wanted to test this LP feature.

Well we did plan to, but what we did last time messed up Bazaar branches rather a lot! I will have to read the instructions again and see, with some input from you, decide if we really need it. Considering we don't write a lot of the languages that will be available to translate into, is there much point? Although, other lovely people of the communities around might come and help us...? Good question. I'll leave this marked as "Needs Information".

I have been thinking about this and reading the Launchpad translations documentation, and I have come to the conclusion that although it would be nice, we face the problem of not speaking/reading/writing enough languages ourselves to make it worthwhile in the end for what we want it to do, and considering I think it is pretty pointless as we only have a small few strings of documentation to translate. No, for now. Please mark this question as solved. We should maybe focus on improving the significantly lacking documentation.

Thanks,

Although there is en_US, en_GB and fr and a little amount of es documentation in the bazaar branch that I did, I think that is as far as we can go, especially as we have lacking documentation and the project isn't really moving forward terribly quickly.

Thanks,

Enough answers given, and a conclusion reached.
