How do I add programs to the drop-down list?

Asked by Chris I-B

In the Preconfigured tab of GUFW (version 0.20.5) there's the option to block/limit/allow programs as well as services. However, when I select "Program" the only available one is Transmission -- a program I don't even have installed!

How do I add programs to the list? One of the screenshots has Deluge, Transmission, Azureus, etc... on it, so surely it must be possible. I looked through the help and couldn't find anything, nor is there an obvious, intuitive button that I've found. For something that calls itself "Uncomplicated" this seems highly perplexing... :P

I'm presently running Ubuntu 8.04 x86-64 (fully-updated).

That list is auto-detected actually. Marcos should added that information to the help file.

If your program wasn't detected, or detected improperly as in your case, please file a bug :)

Hmm. All right then. That's very odd that none of my programs were detected, and the only one there is a program I purged fro my system a long time ago. Off to file a bug report now...

Could be that the configuration file for that program is still there, which
is the case unless you used the --purge argument or "remove completely" in
synaptic.

Gufw should detect that status though...
