ufw blocks connection with smart-tv

Asked by wim.dek@home.nl

I have a smartTV with IP-adress 192.168.1.105 and I use XBMC to watch video on the TV. The IP-adress of the TV is 192.168.1.101.
But I always have to disable UFW to get a connection with the TV. I tried several rules but not anyone is working.

Wich specific rule should put in?

Thanks in advance.
Wim

The outgoing rules are opened by default. Which connection do you want? TV -> PC? or PC -> TV?
Cheers!

I looked further and I saw that if I changed the "Incoming"status to "Allow", I do haven a normal connection with my TV.

So I need : TV -> PC? and PC -> TV both.

I hope this will help.
thanks
Wim

Uhm, Yes, if with the Incoming status = allow all works fine, then you'll
need TV -> PC too. But I don't understand why :/
In Gufw you can add an IN rule for XBMC preconfigured tab.
Which ports do you have in the Listening Report? You have to see the TV
ports there (I'm thinking the will be these:8080 & 9777/udp)
Cheers!

Hello Costales,

Ifind out that the name of the xbmc-progamm should be"xbmc.bin" instead of xbmc remote. Thanks for the help and sorry I waste your time.

Wim
