How do I know what port my vpn service is on?

I want to add rules to gufw for my vpn service, but I can't figure out what port my vpn service is on. How do I figure out what port my vpn service is on? My distro is xubuntu 14.04, and my vpn server is pptp. Could someone tell me how to figure this ou?

The problem is that the pptp traffic comes through using proto 47, not tcp/udp. "ufw" doesn't work with any other protocol besides tcp and udp. So there is no way to open up the firewall for this protocol aside from hand rolling a custom netfilter hack.
