Do I have to keep Gufw open ?

Do I have to keep GUFW firewall open at all time for it to fonction? When the application is closed is it still working?

No.

When the application is closed is it still working?
Yes! :)

The system remember the configuration everytime that it boots, even if I don't start gufw after login, because all it's stored in the iptables.

If you notice, when you launch GUFW, you have to "unlock" and then pull the slider to reflect "on". Because of this I thought "hmpft, it didnt dock in the tray like Firestarter did. I relaunched and had to go through the unlock process all over again :/ But, lo and behold I just check open ports with rules set in GUFW, check my port forwarding, everything is great. I closed the GUFW gu, tested my open ports again just to be sure, yep! All is good. So yeah, the gui must have set persist rules and save, or it simply loads the rules every time you boot up your computer. :)
