I have not seen a button to start / stop working on a task. It would be useful to be able to clock task. For weekly report ...
Does it make sense ?

We're already doing something like that. You have to install also the gnome-panel applet called hamster (which is a time tracker).
GTG has a plugin for hamster (and hamster has just started to read GTG tasks), so when you open a task in GTG you are given the possibility to start it in hamster.
Hamster will keep track of the time you've been working on that. If you re-open the same GTG task after (with the plugin still loaded), it will show you the cumulative time you've been working on that.
