Add a distro that is already installed

Asked by Tom Grobusch

Hello everyone!

I have recently installed parrot home on my computer, but i kept my old grub installation without change. Now the problem is, that i can't boot into parrot, so i searched on google how to add it to the grub bootloader and i found Grub Customizer. Now i tried to add a new entry to the bootloader, i set the name, type: Linux and the correct partition. The problem is, that it sais that it can't generate a boot sequence, but i don't know what else it needs, could anyone help me?

If it helps to know when installing parrot it told me to use these parameters on boot:
Kernel: /vmlinuz
Partition: /dev/...
root=/dev/...
I just don't know how to tell Grub Customizer the right things

Thank you
Greetings

If you know the commands to boot, you can use the type "other" and paste the grub 2 commands. Options like "linux" or "chainloader" are templates for easier use. However it can fail on some special cases.

Can you help with this problem?
