disable os-prober

Asked by Peter Dupler

I am trying to disable the os-prober in Grub-Customizer. I found a few sites that say how easy and simple this is by simply just unticking the os-prober option. However my version of Grub-Customizer (4.0.6) has no "Preferences" or os-prober options to untick, at least not that I can find....
The reasons are first to save time when loading. Second, for some unknown reason it fills literally 2 pages with duplicate entries. Third, it usually screws up my ordering.
I am accessing it often trying to fix a few entries reguarding chainloading but I will ask those in a seperate question.
Lastly, hats off to all the hard work putting this together. Yes, I'm writing at the moment because I have a problem but this has been a great program & I've been using it for years, Thank you!
(Assuming Daniel Richter himself actually reads this... Otherwise, still thanks to the rest of the community for taking the time to answer my question as well!)

Hi.

The option is named "look for other operating systems" and will be found at the general settings tab.

Bye
