Grub-customiser list does not match grub menu

Asked by GuyM

hi,

I have three operating systems installed on machine. I had been using Grub-customiser before I installed the third os, after I installed the third os (on a new partition). Items relating to this os appeared in both grub and grub customiser but not all the same ones and in different order.

This remains the case after uninstalling Grub-customiser, running sudo grub-update and reinstalling Grub-customiser.

Is there a way of resetting so as they match up and I can edit the grub menu again?

Many thanks!

I suppose the third os has installed its own grub to mbr (replacing your previously used grub setup). This is nearly the same problem as installing windows afterwards (the difference: windows wouldn't list your linux setup). There's a simple solution: reinstall your previously configured grub to mbr. You can do this from grub customizer: "File" -> "Install to MBR"!

Can you help with this problem?
