using munin node data transparently ?

Asked by TTimo

munin has some great value in the plugins it provides. there are a lot of them, and they are quite good. the application is also packaged in multiple distributions, which make it trivial to install.

the web side however lacks a lot. I have about 50 machines that run munin node, would I be able to start feeding all that to graphite?

generating the whisper databases that match for all the data available on the nodes

generating the graphs from the plugins config that munin reports

running a cron on all the nodes to scan plugins and push the data to graphite

Sorry for the delay. Yes there is a ruby script in the bzr tree under the contrib directory called munin-graphite.rb that can be used to get munin-node data into graphite. I have not used it myself but it looks pretty straight forward.
