Is ceres usable yet?

Asked by Nitin

Hi,

I have ran into problems with disk usage with whisper and I am having to tweak/lower my storage-schema. I read about ceres before but it seemed that it wasn't ready to be used yet. I tried to look for updates on it but couldn't find any. I just wanted to ask if it usable yet? I would definitely like to try it if it is.

Thanks!

Last I heard (a few months back), it had not been merged back onto the main repo and was not overly tested. It looks fairly awesome on paper but I would not yet trust my data with it.

I would strongly suggest trying out Graphite + OpenTSDB integration.

OpenTSDB way of storing all the metric data into HBase with all those compactions is something that has proven efficiency. The official release is not so far.

Search about the same for more info.

Boopathi,

Do you have any links handy on the current status of this? I'm really interested in trying it out, but I haven't been able to find any good resources explaining how this all fits together.

Can you help with this problem?
