what is pickle_receiver_port used for

I confused in carbon.conf.
what is LINE_RECEIVER_PORT and PICKLE_RECEIVER_PORT used for ?
and How to use ?

Both the ports are basically used for sending in data to graphite.

LINE_RECEIVER_PORT is used for sending one metric at a time while PICKLE_RECEIVER_PORT is used for sending batches of metrics together to graphite.

pickling is just serialization of data.
