Web UI refers to events service on port 8000, nothing running there

Asked by Bruce Lsyik

0.9.9 refers to the ability to input 'events', and specifically calls out to a GUI on port 8000. However, nothing is running on 8000 on my installation. Is this a bug, or a problem with my specific installation?

Thanks.

It looks like the 'http://localhost:8000/events' is only as an example, seemingly by someone who runs their Graphite webapp on port 8000.

The /events view is part of the normal Graphite webapp so you should be able to use your normal Graphite URL to send requests to it.

Aha! That works!

Another related question: now that I can enter an event, and see the list of the at /events, how do I do anything with that? Can I overlay events on graphs?
