past values

does graphite supports injecting value with an epoch in the past (as long as it is a valid unix time) ?
if so then how far in the past can it be ?

Yes and it can be as old as you want (though I doubt negative epoch times would work). If there is already a value stored for a point in time and you send another value for it the last value sent overwrites the previous one.
