Migration Whisper -> Ceres

Hi,

We currently use Graphite with Whisper to monitor our production environnement. We are considering changing to Ceres in the future and would like to set up a testing environnement for it.

Is there any tool for migrating our Whisper database to a Ceres database ?

There is a utility included called convert-wsp-to-ceres

Nicolas, I would love to help you set this up so Ceres can get some more real-world exposure/testing. Nick is right about the convert-wsp-to-ceres but there is slightly more to the process than that.

Currently there are a few manual steps, so I really need to write a migration doc. I will see if I can get something put together on readthedocs.org in the next week or so.

Sure, if you want to try it out sooner that is fine and I'd be happy to answer questions along the way. Once I finish the docs I will update this question and announce on graphite-dev.

Which branch is the ceres code on? Since I have a new deployment I wouldn't mind helping out by testing on it.

I also would like to assist with testing. Which branch contains the ceres code?

While our current prod environment uses whisper, my testing with ceres would initially be from scratch with no need to migrate from whisper.

As regards maturity, is only the migration tool "conver-wsp-to-ceres" not prod ready or is ceres itself also not mature?
