It's become impossible to specify any ingredeint amount

Asked by Michel AUTEM

In Windows(10), I cannot specify anymore any ingredient amount ! When I add a new ingredient, it is taken into account in the database but any figure I type-in for the amount does never appear in the recipe windows and it is completely lost as soon as I close the ingredients frame. Old recipes ingredients amounts are still displayed as long as I don't open the ingredient frame. Then, they are lost also .. Does anybody get the same bug ?

In Linux, Gourmet does not display anymore at all any recipe. This bug seems to be linked with the Python version installed in the system . The current version should be 3.X, no ?

Michel,

Gourmet requires Python 2.7 (it is not compatible with Python 3.x). Refer to the Install instruction on the Gourmet wiki (https://github.com/thinkle/gourmet/blob/master/INSTALL.md) for installation and package version requirements.

Regards,

Saxon.

Thanks a lot Saxon.

Not possible to downgrade my Python installation .. Hoping someday Gourmet itself is upgraded, it's a very funny, useful et well done small application ..

Greetings,
Michel.

Hello Michel,
Indeed; thank you Saxon for the reply and I concur completely with your statement that Gourmet is top!
I have good news for you: you can run multiple versions of Python side-by-side without any issue whatsoever.
A quick Google search brought this up: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/32811713/is-it-ok-to-install-both-python-2-7-and-3-5
So you should be able to install Python 2.7 for Gourmet without creating conflicts for other apps that might use newer versions of Python.
Keep us posted!
Best,
Harald

Howdy Saxon & Franzen !

Thanks for your answer. You asked Me to keep you aware of what I do but I took some time to answer because I didn't need Gourmet since January. But there I'm trying to come back in it, and I see that .. nothing works correctly ! Even uninstalling completely Python and reinstalling ONLY 2.7 (in Linux) does not solve any problem .. For Me, Gourmet is not usable anymore and I lost an amount of data ..

Thank You in advance of your help ..

Michel.
