How to change encoding / font in PDF export (international characters)

Asked by Martin Malec

Hello,

I tried Gourmet recipe manager on my Linux Mint 13 installation, the interface seems working properly but when I try to export the recipe to PDF I get black boxes instead of Czech characters with diacritics. How do I force Unicode and/or proper font that exports these characters correctly? I could not find any setting of this type in the progam configuration.

Thanks

You're experiencing issue #729, see https://github.com/thinkle/gourmet/issues/729
If you're somewhat familiar with python or at least with patching code, you can try out the fix explained there.
OTOH, I'm currently working on the 0.17.0 release, which among other things will feature an alternative print and PDF export plugin that should be able to deal with Latin-2 glyphs properly.

Can you help with this problem?
