how do I enter my own recipes

I am primarily looking for a program to turn all of my handwritten recipes into electronic. I like the features of Gourmet, but don't see an option for entering by hand, just downloading. Does it do this?

Yes, absolutely! (And in a way that's considered quite convenient by many of our users.) Just use File > New.
