icon flicker in vista-like theme

Asked by Mircea

I am using GnoMenu 2.0 (from PPA) under Karmic with Compiz active, nVidia graphics card. I installed Ubista (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=93281), a Vista-like theme. The icons that appear when hovering over menu options (Help, Computer, Network etc.) take a relatively long time to load (1-2 secs) and flicker noticeably when changing. Is there anything I can do to make the icon change smoother?

the problem may be your graphics card or driver.
I also had the flicker on previous versions of ubuntu (intel graphics sucked) not anymore in karmic
