Gnomenu menu item selection is flat and uglyish

Asked by SM Fahmid on 2012-07-25

Hi, I may have a silly question here, but for some reason, the items selected in Gnomenu's menu appear really nice and perfect on my main computer (host) and ugly on the guest OS. I have the exact same theme packages, icons, menus, and sound installed, as well as the murrine engine, aurora engine and clearlooks engine.

Gnomenu compiled perfectly on both OSes; all dependencies were satisfied.
Here's a screenshot to show what I mean: http://imgbin.org/images/8882.png

It appears that your guest OS is running either Gnome 3 or Unity. Can you
tell me what GUI is running on the Host and verify what is in the VM please?
