After Installation of GnoMenu

Asked by Ms. MJ on Linux

Hi

I just installed GnoMenu on my Linux Mint Computer and when I go to "add to panel" on my Gnome Panel I only see the default menu and not the GnoMenu I uninstall using "sudo make uninstall" (w/o the quotes) and reinstall it and still the same results. I also added the ppa listed on the site into my repository on my synaptic package manager. WHAT SHOULD I DO ????

First make sure GnoMenu installed. Use the command, in a terminal 'GnoMenu.py run-in-window' and see what happens.

When you right click on panel and select 'Add to Panel' you should see in the list 'GnoMenu' (remember the apps are listed alphabetically, so it will be in the G section) click that, then click 'Add.'

You may initially see a message that says GnoMenu needs to restart, be sure to click yes if you do. The default GnoMenu theme is called, simply enough, 'Menu.'

Right click on the GnoMenu panel button to change the themes and set your preferences.

I'm experiencing the same issue on Ubuntu 10.04 - no entry in the Add to Panel for GnoMenu.
Running "GnoMenu.py run-in-window" in the terminal works just fine, and really makes me want to be able to install this on my panel!

Sorry took so long to get back to you. Can you see GnoMenu in the add to panel list when you restart?

Yes, it was available after a restart; the docs didn't mention that a restart is required tho.
