gnome-paint

pick color with rgb

Of course, I can select a color from the palette. But I want to specify an RGB value. (And I can find no manual for gnome-paint.)

You can do that by clicking at the first-plan colour frame (just left to the palette at the bottom of the window). A new window should be opened where you will be able to edit the default palette.
