Is there a command line switch for starting in the tray

Wondering if there is a command line option to start GAJ in the tray i.e. no main window showing. If not would it be possible to add it.
I have searched the web and here but can find nothing to do with command line switches etc.

There is currently no such option. I've filed a bug so we'll look into it for the next release.
