time stamps possible?

Asked by nlgdycl

Is it possible to determine the exact time a particular file was opened and for how long? Even if it were possible to determine exactly when a particular file was opened, that would be very useful. Thanks. Oh, FYI I intend on using Gnome Activity Journal as a way to facilitate billing for my law practice.

Well, Zeitgeist is able to determine the exact time a particular file was opened because to every event is associated a timestamp. In GAJ you can see when you create/open/modify a file in the TimeLineView(the third one). You are right if you notice that in this view it's not showed the exact time but only an approssimative one, but i think it would be excessive to put the exact timestamp. Maybe we could add this kind of information in the More Information window, but i'm not sure.
Feel free to open a bug... :)
