Zeitgeist using CouchDB as its backend?

Asked by Stephan Wissel

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, please advice if I should put it elsewhere.

Is there a possibility / plan to use CouchDB as backend for the Activity Journal / Zeitgeist engine? This would allow to sync the Journal across machines using Ubuntu One service (or similar). Also it would make for easy query using CouchDB's webUI.

Currently there are no plans for this, as far as I'm aware.

This would require extra work beside the porting, as Zeitgeist isn't
enabled to differentiate between different machines. Unless you have
the same directory structure on both systems.

The Teamgeist extension (not yet integrated) developed by Collabora
may also be an option; it synchronizes events from other
people/systems into a separate database.
