How to set check interval / frequency in Oneiric

Asked by phillamg

I've upgraded from Natty and updated Gmail Watcher to 11-09-14 dev build (as the previous releases wouldn't work under Oneiric). Whilst I can set my account up and checking works on start up, there is no UI or config entry I can find to adjust the update frequency. Can you tell me how I could achieve this please?

PS: Great tool, thanks for all you effort to date!

New GmailWatcher does not poll the gmail server at regular intervals. It uses an active connection and waits for response from gmail server resulting in instance notifications. It'll always notify about new mail as soon as mail arrives and will not check/poll unless no activity happens in gmail.

Ah, okay. In that case there's a bug with checking after initial start-up. When I login I'll get alerted by GW, but once the emails are read or deleted the alert doesn't disappear. This email wasn't notified despite GW running, I just happened to look at my Gmail page and saw it 15 mins after it arrived. I'll try and narrow it down and raise a bug for you...

Thanks for helping out.

Please upgrade to latest version from ppa:loneowais/gmailwatcher.dev.
Terminal output would be helpful too.

Can you help with this problem?
