Icon stays blue after having red new email.

Hello,
I very much like the program, but ran into one small thing that bothers me. Many times I have just a tab open of gmail, and then browse there now and then to check for new mail. Gm-notify improves on this by letting me know that there is new mail, very nice. However, the issue is as follows: When I see the notification and browse to this tab, read my email there and continue other business, the problem is that it seems that gm-notify does not refresh itself and thus the memenu icon stays blue. It only turns into grey if I deliberately choose to read my email through the memenu and open by this a new tab of gmail. Wouldn't it be nice for the app to refresh its status and automatically become grey again when checking that new messages have already been marked as red? I haven't seen anyone reporting on this, so maybe I am missing something because it seems unlikely that I am the only one with this wish. Otherwise a very nice program.
