Google Apps accounts support

Asked by Sam Hauglustaine

First of all: if you ask me, you application is without a doubt a huge addition to ubuntu. Thank you for this!

But I do have one question: do you think you will be able to support Google Apps (gmail) accounts too?
Currently it does not seem to be possible to use these.

Thanks again!

as far as I know Google Apps accounts will work - as long as you have Google Talk enabled for those...

I tried (after enabling Chat in Google Apps and waiting for about an hour), but to no avail.
What username format do you use? user@domain I assume?

can you try to login to this account with a Google Talk chat client such as Pidgin?

Anyway the username format is correct.

I can sign in in Empathy.
Also in Google Talk (on Windows that is).

Username and password are exactly the same.

Apparently I was using an aptitude package called "gm-notify".
I just installed gnome-gmail-notifier instead (Ubuntu 10.4) and this works fine.

gnome-gmail-notifier doesn't integrate with the panel like GMail Notifier does.

I too have an Apps account and can't get it working with GMail Notifier. Chat is enabled and Empathy works fine with that. Username used is user@domain.

Any pointers appreciated!
