How do I install Gimp brushes?

Asked by Schingiuire

I'm new to Ubuntu, and absolutely love it. I'm still imprinted by Windows XP however, so lose myself sometimes.

I use Ubuntu Jaunty, with Gimp 2.6

I want to install brushes into Gimp but have NO idea how to find the brush file to put them into. I've searched everywhere and am having no luck.

Thanks

Hi!

Under Edit menu, open Preferences dialog. Here you'll find the folders for brushes (and patterns, fonts, plug-ins...) You can choose to install it globally (folder /usr/share/gimp/2.0/brushes) or locally (the path under your home directory)

Have fun drawing!
