gephi utf-8 visualisation of node labels

Asked by Frank, Tobias

Hello there,

i´m making a neo4j database (Java, IDE=Netbeans) that uses utf-8 (japanese symbols) as nodelabels.
Those japanese signs are not printed in the overview, an underline is printed instead.
In the datalaboratory the signs are printed correctly.

Is it possible to print those characters in gephi overview? And how do i manage that.

Greetings Tobias

Hi,

The issue may come from the default font used on Overview. Try to change this by another one, and tell me if it worked.

Cheers,
Sebastien

That helped me a lot,
if you choose for example:

Fangsong
Dialog
MS Gothic

the correct Japanese Signs are showed.

If i´m allowed to ask further,
the signs(nodelabel) all begin with an hyphen(-)
for example: "-本" in the data laboratory is only the japanese character"本"
without a hyphen.

Does anybody know a trick or hint to help me again?

Greetings from Germany Tobias

Ah okay i found it, sorry for that dumb question. If you have selcted more than one nodelabel , there will be a dash for representing nothing.

Thank your for Gephi, its great:)
