Yes, a tuturial is beeing prepared about this subject. It's possible to reuse gephi modules to build a headless application.

Note that currently ProjectAPI module contains implementation as well and therefore has a lot of dependencies. It will be splitted very soon and makes everything more easy when depending on jars.
