How do I revoke partition colors so I can use for another data category?

Asked by Tim

I'm using 0.7 alpha.

I like using the "partition" to apply colors to my categorical data. The first time I apply "partition parameter", I get the colors applied. However, if I change the partition parameter, I can't ask for the new category to get the colors. I try hitting the "color wheel" in the partitions tab, but that doesn't do anything (for what I can see). The only way, for now, to get it to work is to
1) Close the project.
2) Re-import the graphML data

Is there a better way?

I'm not sure I understand exactly. I notices bugs in partition so I'm wondering if it's a bug or if you asked something else.

If you're looking for a way to reset colors, look at the vertical toolbar at the left of the graph window. At the bottom the Black rectangle is the "Reset color" button. Right click to change the color and left click to apply color to the visible graph.

If you're looking for a way to randomize Partition color, right click on the Partition window, a popup menu appears and you can randomize colors.

If something is blocked in Partition, that may be a bug. In that case could you please detail the way how to reproduce it.

This solves my problem. Thank you very much! This was my first time using the tool, so I'm a different type of person than your normal scientists. I did get my graph into the tool and I was able to get automate renderings that I heretofore had to do by hand tweaking in power-point. (I used the graphML import.)

The root cause of my confusion is two-fold
1) you are still working on the user documentation, so I can't use that. For a new user, that's the single most important thing you can do.

2) it's unusual for so many things to be so "right-clickable". Now that you tell me, I find a ton of things I didn't know about before (e.g. ability to re-set colors.) Oddly, on the other hand, things I expect to be right-clickable are not;
    - I want to right-click on a node and see/edit the properties. (I can't get the "Edit node properties" thing to work on the left o the graph window")

Again the biggest help for me would be documentation with examples.
