Project plugin does not show up in the menu

Asked by cecilia fx

using gedit 3.18.3 on Ubuntu 16.04 the latest Cinnamon - I've installed this Project plugin but it does not show up in the menu. I've checked and rechecked to make sure I installed as directed.

the files are installed in "/home/cecilia/.local/share/gedit/plugins" - as directed.
I did this bit:
sudo cp *.gschema.xml /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/
sudo glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/

I turned on the plugin in the preferences and restarted gedit and still nothing

I even uninstalled gedit and reinstalled everythimg

still nothing
wazzup?

I'm sorry, but the plugin (and all my other gedit plugins) is only compatible with gedit up to 3.10 and I don't have a plan to port it to a newer gedit version. If you prefer the old gedit 3.10 (as I do) you can install the package gedit310 from my PPA for Ubuntu 16.04, but you have to deinstall the gedit package from the Ubuntu archive first (you can't have both installed).
