Print Selection

Asked by Dario Clocchiatti

Hello!
I've just installed and run your 1.9.0 gEda version, mainly because I've read that it explicitely added features on the printing side. Since I like very much gEDA's component "font", and since it seems to be the only program that implements a reasonable user friendly system of drawing (I really hate xcircuit) I have decided to draw my circuits (to be included in latex) with gEDA.
So I thought it would be really amazing if it would be possible to print a selection of the circuit to a pdf and than add the pdf directly in the latex code (without other passages). The problem is that the PDF must be properly "cut" and should not include the borders (I mean the black margins and also the part with name, etc fields).
So my question is, how to get rid of the borders? Could it be possible to print in pdf directly a selection made on the circuit? (for example only a group of transistors)

Thanks and best regards.

Sorry, I'm not one of the gEDA developers, I just run the web site and
such (I'm a PCB developer). Please direct gEDA questions to the

For the record, in my version of gschem (1.7.20) this seems possible.

The print settings dialog has a 'Type' pull down with options for extents with margins, no margins, and current window. use current window focused on your secdtion of the circuit and change the destination to 'file' which saves as postscript.

After the export step, the ps2pdf utility or other similar tools can be used to convert the output from postscript to pdf.

Can you help with this problem?
