Is there a meeting in Long beach Calif or near about.

Unfortunately you are asking - for what reason ever - this question in the "gDesklets" section. Here you will find/get answers to any question releated to gDesklets only.

So it might be better to ask this question in the ubuntu section (https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu), although I would even say it might be better to look here (and use the appropiate forum): https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamList.
