Recommended networking library

I have to implement a OTP authentication simulation using arm-none-eabi-gcc, and I saw that it doesn't use sys/sockets.h. Is there a library that the team could recommend that could connect to a very simple server written in C with the sole purpose of sending an authentication password and getting a response back? -- Or a way that doesn't require external libraries?
