Installation and use on Beaglebone Black

Asked by Sam

Hi There!

Is it possible to install and use the toolchain on the beaglebone black?
I have downloaded and installed as per the readme however when i try to execute I get the error
"cannot execute binary file"
I have checked that the file is marked as executable.

Is this an architecture problem?

Thanks!

Sam

Hi Sam,

We only provide binaries for x86 hosts so you cannot use our binary tarball. I suggest you download our tarball and follow the instructions in the PDF to build the toolchain on the beaglebone. Note that it will likely require quite a bit of time to build it all. Another solution would be to cross-compile the toolchain but the instructions don't cover this so you would be on your own.

Best regards.

I'll give those options a shot.

Thanks Thomas!
