MAC OS X: cannot execute binary file

Asked by nb_86

I downloaded the latest MAC OS installation tarball (gcc-arm-none-eabi-4_9-2015q1) and extracted the contents to /usr/local. When I run
./arm-none-eabi-gcc -v
I get the following error: -bash: ./arm-none-eabi-gcc: cannot execute binary file. I get the same error when using compiling from Eclipse.
I am running MAC OS Yosemite version 10.10.2.

I've looking online for solutions to this problem, but so far I have been unsuccessful.
Please can someone assist with this issue.

Hi,

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce such problem on my Mac.

Would you first check the MD5sum of the installation tarball you downloaded is correct? If it is correct, would you extract the tarball into anywhere in you home directory and check if the binary file can be executed?

BR,
Tony
