nano.specs missing in v4.8.2

Asked by Jeff Ciesielski

Using version 4.8.2, it appears that nano.specs is missing. I have the following packages installed:

binutils-arm-none-eabi
gcc-arm-none-eabi
gdb-arm-none-eabi
libnewlib-arm-none-eabi

Attempting to build firmware that previously build fine on v 4.7.4 causes the following error:

arm-none-eabi-gcc: error: nano.specs: No such file or directory

Having a peek in the output of 'dpkg -L libnewlib-arm-none-eabi' shows no nano.specs file present.

Was this an oversight, or has support been removed?

I think you are using tool chain released by Ubuntu, not us. For the time being, there is package name clash here. We are working with Debian (the Ubuntu upstream) on this issue. For the work around to install our tool chain via apt, please refer to https://bugs.launchpad.net/gcc-arm-embedded/+bug/1309060.

Can you help with this problem?
