Hi,
maybe a very silly question ,but in comparison to e.g. code-sourcery I'm missing the thumb-2 named directories for the libraries in the 4.7 2013q2 release.
Is this by purpose ?

Yes, it's on purpose. The general thumb2 folder is replaced with more specific target-based folders like armv7-m, armv7e-m.
