g-ctan not able to fetch siunits or mathtools

Asked by Anders Aspegren Søndergaard

In gentoo on a 64 bit machine, I did

# ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~amd64" emerge g-ctan
# g-ctan -g

When I do
# g-ctan -e siunits
or
# g-ctan -e mathtools
g-ctan responds with
* mathtools is not known to me. Either get a new package database or correct the package name.

Is this a bug, or have I forgotten to edit some configuration file?

Anders

SIunits has not been updated since the release of TeXLive 2009, so use texlive-science to get it. mathtools.sty is included in the mh package, so try that.

Thanks Christian Faulhammer, that solved my question.

I think I got confused about the terminology. A LaTeX package and a (g-)ctan package are certainly two different things :-)
I'll search ctan.org for the packages next time. Thank you!

You can also have a look at /var/cache/g-ctan/texlive.tlpdb, which is the raw date for database generation. There are files are listed under the package name.

Argh....all installed files are listed for an installable TeXLive package.
