I suggest that you look at https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

Below the heading "Easy ways to switch to Ubuntu" you find instructions how to burn a DVD from the Ubuntu .iso file on Ubuntu, Windows and macOS.
This should work the same if you burn a CD, or use a different .iso file.

In case of a CD you have to take care that the size of the .iso file fits to the CD medium.
