Mirantis Fuel installation fails using the vbox scripts on MacOS

Asked by Arthur on 2016-01-15

Hi,
I downloaded the latest vbox scripts and the 7.0 ISO from Mirantis.
I installed vbox 5.0.12 on a brand new installation of MacOS 10.11 El Capitan.
I copied over the ISO, I started the installation with ./launch_8GB.sh

got to the point:
Waiting for VM "fuel-master" to power on...
VM "fuel-master" has been successfully started.
Waiting for product VM to install. Please do NOTabort the script...

Meanwhile in virtualbox:
image created, boot from dvd, package installation done, reboot
staqrting kdump [failed]

then Fuel 7.0 Setup comes up with a Warning:
It is highly recommended to change default admin password

I go to Save and Continue, enter
after the checks I get NTP warnings, unable to perform NTP configuration.
then unable to resolve www.google.com
If I save and exit it starts to load docker images and hangs there.

On the terminal:
expect: spawn id exp7 not open
while executing
"expect "*?assword:*""

If you have any tips or tricks please post! thank you

Greetings Arthur,

is the host system you're installing Fuel onto connected to the Internet?
As a general recommendation, I can tell you to verify to not have conflicting NTP and DHCP on the same Fuel admin network segment. I will show your case to other team members too.

Best regards,
Fabrizio

Hi,

I just left the system there, and now it shows everything as installed, I could log in to Fuel.
The host is connected to internet through wifi.
Thanks,
Arthur
