Moving Workload with pumphouse

Asked by John

I would like to upgrade my current icehouse cluster to juno. I use fuel for my deployments, I also know there is pumphouse to be able to move workloads from source to destination. I have two questions:

1. as of Nov 2014, pumphouse has no support for Cinder. Is this the case still or has that changed?
 2. When using pumphouse to migrage workloads, where do I install pumphouse? do I install it on current fuel master or create a new fuel master and install there?

Thanks in advance for the help

John

Greetings, John,

I would recommend to wait until MOS 7.0 release. This release should include additional component for VM migration between OpenStack clusters. It is a kind of Pumphouse further development and integration with Fuel master node, made by the Pumphouse team.

You may find the current docs on it here, until we make these docs publicly available on Mirantis web site with 7.0 release:
https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-docs/tree/master/pages/operations/upgrade

7.0 release is planned on September, 30, 2015.
After 7.0 release you may decide, should you still use old Pumphouse or new upgrade functionality, introduced in 7.0 suites your needs.

Kind regards,
Miroslav Anashkin, L2 support engineer, Mirantis Inc.
