ha deployment replace node

Asked by lieni

we have a 3 controller node ha deployment fuel 5.1 (ubuntu)

One controll failed because of a motherboard error.
We replaced the bord, after the server isn't recognized by fuel anymore.
And it doesnt boot up normally and it doesn't boot from PXE.

i tried to delete the failed node from the environment, error (min. 3 Ceilometer nodes required).
I tried to add a new controller node (new server hardware), but deployment failed because of a timeout.
(logs says the failed node is not reachable).

Is this a bug or do i am doing it the wrong way?

Greetings Lieni,
the nodes are recognized by the MAC address of the NIC on the admin network segment. If you substitute the NIC, the node will be recognized as a new node.

A timeout error is pretty generic. It may be a bug or may not - I would reccomend you to ensure that network connections work fine and retry, but please run Verify Network before redeploying.

Best regards,
Fabrizio
