Migrate from existing Openstack to Fuel-based Openstack

Asked by Jesse Pretorius

Is it possible to migrate an existing Openstack environment to a Fuel-based Openstack environment? If so, what is the process?

If not, please add this as an enhancement request. We're considering using Fuel for our Openstack environment from now on, but to do so we have to work out a migration path from our existing deployments.

Greetings Jesse

No, it is not possible with current Fuel versions.

Upcoming Fuel 5.0 includes possibility to upgrade Fuel master node to future versions and will be able to handle more than single OpenStack version at time.
So we made first step towards OpenStack upgrade and migration.

Kind regards,
Miroslav
